3 Storey Building
The scheme originally had plans to create 2 x small houses with basements. Samson Space were requested to look at improving the scheme for a better mix of units for a vibrant area with a dynamic demand for various property typologies. The new Samson Space approval comprised of 6 large residential apartments which made use of a much larger footprint of building increasing the Gross Development Value from £1,600,000 to £4,000,000. A total uprise of £2,400,000.
The 3 Storey building demonstrates a sensitive and pragmatic approach to working within conservation areas. A palette of weathered London yellow stock and a zinc clad 3rd storey.
Sitting within the Stroud Green Conservation Area of North London allowed our Architects to study and develop a design that would result in a modern interpretation to a period surrounding. Studying the local vernacular, materiality and the evident Victorian proportions resulted in a design that would pay tribute to its context whilst setting its own, contemporary form
